Connect 5 Session 3 - Extended Mental Wellbeing Intervention

Outline

The focus of Connect 5 training is to enable you to feel more confident and skilled to work collaboratively with individual adults, so you can help them improve their mental wellbeing and:
  • better understand language around mental health, mental wellbeing and mental illness
  • learn about local services and self-help resources available
  • become more confident about offering wellbeing advice and support within your everyday work or volunteering role

Description

Please note - you must have attended Session 1 and 2 to be eligible to attend Session 3

This course will include:
  • Participants feedback on how they’ve used the skills they learnt on Connect 5 sessions 1 and 2.
  • Revisiting the characters from Connect 5 sessions 1 and 2 and working with them on each of the Five Areas.
  • Practising different practical self management techniques including: scaling, problem solving, activity scheduling, action planning, recognising and challenging unhelpful thinking styles, self compassion and relaxation.
  • Considering opportunities and potential difficulties around putting Connect 5 learning into practice

Outcomes

The aims of session 3 are to help you to:
  • work collaboratively with individuals to help them improve their own mental wellbeing
  • demonstrate to individuals new ways of seeing things that they find difficult
  • use evidence-based interventions (such as techniques based on CBT) with individuals
  • help individuals make lasting changes that have a positive effect on their mental wellbeing

Booking Information

This training sessions is free if you meet the audience criteria but there’s a charge for non-attendance, so if you book onto a session and then don’t turn up, your organisation will be charged. There will also be a charge if you are unable to attend and you cancel your place less than 7 days before the date of the training.
If you attend the training and you are not eligible to attend, then your organisation will be charged.

Audience

This training is for frontline workers and volunteers from not-for-profit organisations, which support Warrington residents.
